faith formation programming

Faith Formation guides people of all ages to learn and investigate their faith through the words and lessons of the Bible, participation in community mission projects, and interaction and fellowship with other members of the church.

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study meets at 9 am in the Library. It centers around discussions and conversations about the lessons found in the Bible.

Sunday Worship begins at 10:15 am.  The first Sunday of each month includes Artspace. What is Artspace? It is a designated space off to the right in the front of the church that provides a low table and art supplies where people of any age (yes even adults) can go to interpret worship through drawing, coloring, or writing. The rest of the month youth are invited to stay in worship and listen/participate in the Children’s Moment and the litany of the service. Activity Bags are provided to help younger children stay involved with worship. Nursery care is provided for children, infants through 5 years old.

Wednesday evening TouchStones is an Inter-generational Fellowship gathering from 5:30-7 pm. We start with a simple meal served at 5:30pm. We share conversation and thoughts on different faith related questions as we eat. We finish the evening with a mission focused activity or craft project. Each month highlights a different mission focus.

Confirmation youth, ages 6th through 8th grade, are joining with Faith UCC church in Davenport for confirmation studies. They will be led by Faith UCC pastor Heidi Hulme. She is joined by our representative Jeri Revels. They will meet every other Sunday from 12:30 – 2:30 pm alternating between the two churches. Confirmands will study the bible and how it relates to their lives and our church’s missions. They will have the opportunity to participate in conferences, retreats, and mission trips.
